EOC Week 4: Role of Women in Contemporary Advertisements

In this Dolce & Gabbana ad, it is suggesting that sex sells and that women are good at that. They are trying to promote and sell their products through sex. The woman is in a sexual positions with a man, while three others are all eye balling her. The message this ad states is that a woman wearing their products can attract the male figure. Basically the woman is the key focus, and sex is what is driving the ad.

In this Wonderbra ad they are using a woman's breast as the main focus. The ad says "I can't cook. Who Cares?" This ad is suggesting that women don't need to cook because they can wear the Wonderbra that will flatter your breast. The main statement they are making is that if a woman is wearing a bra that makes her breasts look good, then that's all that matters, you don't need any other qualities, let alone goals, except for having a pair of breasts that looks good in a Wonderbra.

Both of these ads have to deal with sexual content, the role of women in contemporary advertisement is now using the woman's body as a sex symbol in order to sell and promote products.
